The activities are planned to be fun with a purpose. They may stimulate memories or test the brain to solve a problem. New experiences will be offered involving art, music, cultural topics, history and more. This program is a social model for programming and no skilled care is provided by staff. Individuals who would like to participate must be comfortable in a small group setting. Discover Connections is an eight (8) week session as all other programs at the Center. New experiences will be offered involving art, music, cultural topics, history and more. This program is a social model for programming and no skilled care is provided by staff. Individuals who would like to participate must be comfortable in a small group setting. Discover Connections is an eight (8) week session as all other programs at the Center. Campers will also explore bathymetry, celestial navigation, biodiversity, and cartography. They’ll even train with flood and mooring simulators to develop critical maritime skills. As part of the experience, campers will have the opportunity to participate in a Sea Perch program, where they design and build their own underwater robot. Discover Connections - Bingocize This program is a welcoming and nurturing program designed for individuals 55 + with varied needs including those persons with beginning to mild cognitive challenges or anyone at risk for social isolation. The activities are planned to be fun with a purpose. They may stimulate memories or test the brain to solve a problem. New experiences will be offered involving art, music, cultural topics, history and more. This program is a social model for programming and no skilled care is provided by staff. Individuals who would like to participate must be comfortable in a small group setting. Discover Connections is an eight (8) week session as all other programs at the Center. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 am -12:00 pm. Lunch will be from 11:30pm to 12:00pm. Participants can bring their lunch or purchase lunch as the Coastal Café in Thrive55+. Campers will also explore bathymetry, celestial navigation, biodiversity, and cartography. They’ll even train with flood and mooring simulators to develop critical maritime skills. As part of the experience, campers will have the opportunity to participate in a Sea Perch program, where they design and build their own underwater robot. Discover Connections - Bingocize This program is a welcoming and nurturing program designed for individuals 55 + with varied needs including those persons with beginning to mild cognitive challenges or anyone at risk for social isolation. The activities are planned to be fun with a purpose. They may stimulate memories or test the brain to solve a problem. New experiences will be offered involving art, music, cultural topics, history and more. This program is a social model for programming and no skilled care is provided by staff. Individuals who would like to participate must be comfortable in a small group setting. Discover Connections is an eight (8) week session as all other programs at the Center. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 am -12:00 pm. Lunch will be from 11:30pm to 12:00pm. Participants can bring their lunch or purchase lunch as the Coastal Café in Thrive55+. Novelette Writing & Publication - Novelette Writing & Publication - Wed (Summer) Aspiring writers concentrate on the craft of writing novelettes (mini-novels 20 - 35 pages) that can then be assembled for publication via the free means provided through Amazon.com. Prerequisite - successfully completed Short Story Writing class and attain publication along with consent of the Instructor, Nicholas Checker. Checker’s own publications include numerous short stories in the literary markets, a pair of novels, “Druids” and “Scratch” through Oak Tree Press, California and his latest full-length novels, “The Saga of Marathon” and “The Legend of Kwi Coast”, through Wild Rose Press, New York.

Discover Connections - Bingocize This program is a welcoming and nurturing program designed for individuals 55 + with varied needs including those persons with beginning to mild cognitive challenges or anyone at risk for social isolation. The activities are planned to be fun with a purpose. They may stimulate memories or test the brain to solve a problem. New experiences will be offered involving art, music, cultural topics, history and more. This program is a social model for programming and no skilled care is provided by staff. Individuals who would like to participate must be comfortable in a small group setting. Discover Connections is an eight (8) week session as all other programs at the Center. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 am -12:00 pm. Lunch will be from 11:30pm to 12:00pm. Participants can bring their lunch or purchase lunch as the Coastal Café in Thrive55+. S.T.E.M. Navigation and Concepts Camp - S.T.E.M. Navigation and Concepts Camp Experience an exciting hands-on camp led by dedicated Navy volunteers! Young explorers will dive into the world of navigation, learning essential skills such as piloting, using gyroscopes and compasses, and understanding GPS technology. Campers will also explore bathymetry, celestial navigation, biodiversity, and cartography. They’ll even train with flood and mooring simulators to develop critical maritime skills. As part of the experience, campers will have the opportunity to participate in a Sea Perch program, where they design and build their own underwater robot. This engaging program combines science, adventure, and teamwork to inspire the next generation of navigators and environmental stewards.Monday & Tuesday classes meet at Groton Community Center, 61 Fort Hill Road, GrotonWednesday, Thursday & Friday classes meet at Esker Point Beach, 900 Groton Long Point Road, GrotonThis camp will be offered 4 time this summer.
