Participants also learn how to approach the publication market and query agents and managers. The end of the course culminates with a public presentation of the students’ short works. The class is taught by local writer Nicholas Checker, author of a pair of novels, “Druids” and “Scratch” through Oak Tree Press, California – and his latest full-length novel, “The Saga of Marathon”, through Wild Rose Press, New York. Younger participants must receive permission from the instructor.

Novelette Writing & Publication - Novelette Writing & Publication - Mon (Winter) Aspiring writers concentrate on the craft of writing novelettes (mini-novels 20 - 35 pages) that can then be assembled for publication (electronic & paperback) via the free means provided through Amazon.com. Prerequisite to enroll in this program is having successfully completed our Short Story Writing class and attained publication through it, along with consent of the instructor, Nicholas Checker, published novelist. Checker’s own publications include numerous short stories in the literary markets, a pair of novels, “Druids” and “Scratch” through Oak Tree Press, California and his latest full-length novels, “The Saga of Marathon” and “The Legend of Kwi Coast”, through Wild Rose Press, New York.
