Brand new to Pickleball?
Please attend a Beginner Lesson BEFORE attending an Open Play.
Beginner Level is defined as new to the game with basic understanding of rules & scoring.

Pickleball Lessons/Clinics Policy:  
--Particpants may only sign up for lessons/clinics one week at a time
--24 Hour notice is required for cancellations
--No refunds for No-Shows
--Lessons and sign-ups are not transferable
--No substitutions are allowed

All participants must have a free GP&R Drop-In Pickleball Membership Bar Code and scan in to play.  (Available below)

Pickleball Mini Tournament
  • Mini Pickleball Tournament
  • Get ready to serve, dink, and smash your way to victory at our Mini Pickleball Tournament! This is your chance to test your skills and compete against players at a similar level.
  • Details:
  • Skill Level: This tournament is designed for players with a 2.5 - 3.5 skill rating.
  • Divisions: Compete in either the Men's Division or the Women's Division.
  • Cost: $10 per person. All payments must be made online and are non-refundable.
  • How to Register:
  • Sign up for a free account on the MyRec platform.
  • Once you have an account, complete your payment online.
  • Important Notes:
  • This is a one-day tournament.
  • In case of inclement weather, the tournament will be moved indoors to the Groton Community Center. Be sure to check your email and GPR social media for any weather-related updates.
  • Players must provide their own equipment.

Pickleball Clinics
  • Learn the ins and outs of one of the fastest growing sports out there! Pickleball lessons will be offered on a limited basis at the Groton Community Center. With guided instruction at both beginner and intermediate levels, these lessons will help you to understand the game on a higher level. Beginner is a great option for anyone looking to learn about the game while Intermediate is great for taking your game to the next level! Please attend a lesson before attending drop-in play. Lesson fee includes open play after lesson. Join the growing world of pickleball enthusiasts today!
  • Beginner Pickleball Lessons--Instruction in the fundamentals of Pickleball to Beginners include: Stance, Serve, Ground Stroke, Dinking, Scoring, and No Volley Zone. Participates will play a structured game at the conclusion of the class.
  • Intermediate Taking Your PB Game To the Next Level--This class will focus on improving your PB skills. Special attention will focus on striving towards intermediate skill development--emphasizing the Dink, the Third Shot Drop, Court Position, Blocking and consistent strategic application.
