4:30 PM - 6:30 PM    Short Story Writing - Short Story Writing - Wed (Spring)
Aspiring writers learn tactics and techniques for developing the right type of language and skills for writing fiction that can be marketed successfully. Participants also learn how to approach the publication market and query agents and managers. The end of the course culminates with a public presentation of the students’ short works. 
 
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM    Novelette Writing & Publication - Novelette Writing & Publication - Wed (Spring)
Aspiring writers concentrate on the craft of writing novelettes (mini-novels 20 - 35 pages) that can then be assembled for publication via the free means provided through Amazon.com. Prerequisite - successfully completed Short Story Writing class and attain publication along with consent of the Instructor, Nicholas Checker.  Checker’s own publications include numerous short stories in the literary markets, a pair of novels, “Druids” and “Scratch” through Oak Tree Press, California and his latest full-length novels, “The Saga of Marathon” and “The Legend of Kwi Coast”, through Wild Rose Press, New York.

Recommendation:  Brand new program registrants are encouraged to enroll in Experimental Writing Journeys first.A unique writing curriculum where adult students explore the depths and range of their writing, delving into the imagination ... more for artistic discovery than for actual story writing. It is a course designed for creative exploration as opposed to publication. A curriculum focused on the exploratory aspects of creative writing.
